Slow Loris name: “Sho kun” Common name : Sunda Slow Loris Scientific name : Nycticebus coucang
Sho Kun was arrived to the project on Dec.18th 2009 by the local man. He said he got her from the rubber plantation in Phuket and had taken care of him since then. Sho kun was fed by Soy milk and fruit. Sho kun has problem on his two back legs. He can’t use his back legs because of the sickness called “Rickets” due to not enough of calcium feeding when he was younger. Dr. Tum, our vet put him on medication of “Calcium Nutritional Deficiency” and prescribed “Calcium Lactate” for one quarter each day and Tonophophan every three day. He’s getting better each day and is now recovered.
Sunda Slow Loris (Nycticebus coucang) is one of three of slow loris, native to Southeast Asia. This slow has large eyes that point forward, and ears that are small and nearly hidden in the fur. Its tail is a mere stump. They is a diurnal and arboreal animal that prefers the tops of the trees inhabit orchards, plantations, bamboo forests and also tropical rain forests in parts of the Malaysian peninsula, Thailand
